Homeless in Tucson!

Tucson/Lazydays KOA
Tucson, AZ
January 15-16, 2014

After leaving Houston, we had 3 nights and 4 days of travel before arriving in Tucson. I didn't mention it before, but when we pulled out of Freeport way back on the 5th, our jacks came up, but, the left rear jack dumped about a quart of hydraulic fluid on the concrete pad. Needless to say, we didn't use them again...thank goodness for level sites all the way here!

A phone call was made to Jeff Fisher and an appointment for Thursday, the 16th was made. Jeff replaced our slide motor this time last year!

We had a list of about 5 things we needed done...the jack checked (and yes a new one has been ordered from Winnebago so a return trip for service is scheduled for next week...we were hoping for a repair), new slide toppers installed (nope, the weather just didn't cooperate for Joe to do it in Freeoprt...we had ordered the sunpro material), the basement AC unit serviced (yeah...no problems there!), the generator serviced (yeah...no problems there either!), and the back slide aligned and lubricated (works like a charm now!).  Once again Jeff Fisher came through for us.  He is a man of integrity and talent.  We feel very fortunate to have established this relationship.  Thanks Jeff !

So, what do you do when you are homeless in Tucson?

We miss you Belle!

Well, you walk some, play at the very nice bark park A LOT, go out to lunch...and

and, some of us slept!

Our ride on Wednesday was a reminder why we love the desert...

Ah...the desert! Feels like home...until next time,
enjoy the view!

  3. The desert does feel like it's home. Maybe it's because we've spent lots of time in it since we've retired. We have yet to get our Jeep on the trails yet. We will. We're sure of that.

  6. Don't you just hate being homeless while work is being done. But it's a good feeling to know someone competent is on the job. Looking forward to seeing the desert one day but it is a struggle to get Don away from the coast.

  7. Brings back memories of our time at Lazy Days in Tucson. How long will you be there? Love those orange and lemon trees, not so fond of the olive trees ,Georgia was constantly trying to eat the olive pits on the ground:(

  8. We love the desert and we will be back in a couple of years. We sure hope Belle is doing fine now. Of all the repairs/maintenance/ done for Belle we are interested to know about your slide toppers. Will these prevent leaks? how does this work when putting the slide back in? Is this Jeff here in FL or in TX or AZ?

  10. Nice to have an RV tech you trust. I love having things checked, everything's okay, and I know I'm good for a while. Such a good feeling.

Your doggies are so cute, whether asleep or awake.

I love the desert, too. That was a surprise for me, I thought I'd be full-timing in forests - but with solar, that doesn't work so well, so it's deserts for me most of the time. And I've been surprised how nice it is. When I drive back into Quartzsite after being gone for six months I feel exactly the same way, I'm home. :)

  12. We spent some time in Tucson about 6 years ago and really considered looking for a home there…..then it snowed (January) on the lemon tree beside our MH. We really enjoy the Desert Museum and of course, the food. Enjoy the desert.
