Lazy Days...Just Waiting!

Tucson/Lazydays KOA
Tucson, AZ
April 6, 2014

1328 WooHoo has been our home now for 33 days with 8 more to go. For the last week, we have been rather lazy...the antibiotic Joe has taken came with cautions...  "Avoid exposure to the sun when on this medication". If all goes well on April 11th, and the 20+ stitches are removed, we will be heading north on April 14th.

Mornings have been especially lazy around our house with no hikes to motivate us to get an early start.

Dover ( nicknamed Me)

and Jack (we call him Mini-Me) look so pretty in the early morning sun on the patio.

Early morning trips to the bark park to play...and

 chase lizards up the tree!

This sweet little mama dove sits patiently in her nest. She  has her nest in the orange tree right next to our patio. I check on her everyday.

And this little beauty, a Verdin, was enjoying a breakfast of insects at the bark park one morning. They don't stay still very long. I heard them long before I found them.  Verdins do not migrate. They have adapted to the desert and can derive all the water they need from what they eat...mostly insects and spiders.

It was good seeing a delivery from this truck...Cherry Garcia was at the top of the list last week for favorite flavors!

Have a wonderful week. There are a lot of folks traveling...be safe!

Until next time, take care and...

 enjoy!

  3. It must be really tough to stay out of the sun but well worth the wait for sure:) Good that Joe is being the proper patient.

The dogs are so cute. Sure looks like they are enjoying the dog park. Love the header of Sally:)

I am a little slow for sure. I didn't realize that Lazydays sold the RV park to KOA. I saw your address at the top but just figured it was a different park. Duh!!! We were there last winter for a month from mid Jan to mid Feb. I had the best orange tree next to us (different from the others). We had a great grapefruit tree on the other. I spent the month making juice. The first night we went out and bought a juicer. Boy, we were in heaven. I was making a combo of orange and grapefruit and freezing half gallons for the future. I have marked the site and hope to get it again next year. Before we left I juiced lemons and froze the juice in ice cube trays. I still have some left. Hope the fruit was still there for you!!

Do they still have free USA Today's in the office? Do they still have the same policy that back in sites are for month stays?

Hope you got your Ben and Jerry's...yum:)

    1. The oranges have been especially good this year too Pam!
There is a couple across the street in a grassy, deluxe site who have been here for many months. I'm not sure what e deal is there. We have a back in as do all the other monthly stays. I will have to check on the USA Today. I haven't noticed one way or the other.

  4. I can feel the dog's excitement in your opening photos. It must be great to have such a good dog park nearby for their play time.

The little Verdin is adorable. He almost looks like a canary. Another special sighting.

Cherry Garcia is near the top of my list too. Dark chocolate and cherries are a winning combination.

  5. Oh, your babies are adorable! And a sighting of a Verdin to beat. Are you heading back to La Grange this summer? Gay, your action pictures depict joy and delight from your boys.

We will not be heading back to LaGrange this summer. Plans include Sedona, Moab and Colorado. We can hardly wait to get rollin!

  6. Glad to hear things are going well with hubby! I hope you get to head north as planned. Love the kid photos, especially - all four off the ground! Aren't the Doves the sweetest looking little things?

    1. Thank you Sheila! Can you tell I am having camera withdrawals? I sure miss hiking and being outside!

The little mama to be is so sweet sitting in her nest. I was hoping to see babies, but I think we might leave before the eggs hatch.

  7. I can tell you're just counting the days until you can roll again. It shouldn't be long now. I think the fur kids will miss the area though, they look happy to be there. Their personalities sure come thru in the photos. The header shot of Sally is absolutely adorable.

    1. We are getting way excited Gayle. The pups will miss the huge bark park here. Although something has happened here with Jack ( the little doxie). He will not play ball at the park. We have no idea why. After he does his business, he heads for the gate. Very strange! And sad for us!

    2. That is strange Gay but as you know, dogs have a sixth sense about things. Always trust a good dog's judgement.
