Just An Ordinary Day...

San Diego Metro KOA

What is just an ordinary day anyway? For all the folks who RV full-time, it can be many things...a travel day headed for new places or old familiar ones, a hike through a canyon or the top of a mountain, or maybe its a wait in the visitors lounge while your home is being serviced. For some, its days of volunteering and giving back and for others, helping the neighbor next door.  Before retirement, days did seem ordinary. But that is not the case anymore. I love waking up in the morning and facing a new day...no matter what is on the agenda! Just an ordinary day doesn't seem so ordinary anymore!

Last Thursday, with a picnic packed we headed to the park at the mouth of the Sweetwater River...

I can see you...

A Yellow-rumped Warbler

A White Crowned Sparrow

A Brown Pelican and Cormorant sharing a moment...

The park is the end of Sweetwater Bikeway. A right turn however connects to the Bayshore Bikeway. A little further we came to an overlook, Birds of Paradise Marsh...described as a supermarket for the birds. No folks allowed!
It was hard to spot any birds from so far away, but we enjoyed the challenge.

A Great Blue Heron

And a spot of color...Black Sage
 The ride home...

looking back towards the mouth of Sweetwater River,

and what the river looks like closer to home.

We made several stops on the way home...I couldn't help it!

American Avocet...I wish I could have been closer!

A Great Egret
A Brown Pelican...
...with really cool feet!
 American Widgeons

Isn't it just so great how an ordinary day can become extrordinary? Enjoy your day...until next time, take care and

 happy trails!
