Camp Verde, AZ
April 12, 2015
I just love travel days...once we are packed up and loaded that is. Traveling the highways and byways brings me so much joy and peacefulness...especially driving days like last Saturday. Life is good!
Just a few sights along the way that made my heart beat a little faster...
Anyhow, we are settled in at Distant Drums RV Resort, Camp Verde, AZ site # 45 until April 23rd and will then move to our favorite site #37 which is a pull-in facing the mountains. We like it here as it is in the middle of Cottonwood and Sedona so both places are easy to get to. Distant Drums' monthly rate is a huge bargain...very clean and well maintained, friendly staff, pull-in sites have a large concrete patio, parking space, and electricity is included.
Dover's favorite spot in our home. |
Pearl is sporting her summer do! Back windows are out, tonneau (tonno) cover is on, and she even has a sparkle these two approve of. Dover loves riding without the windows!
And guess who pulled in this morning...
Lynn, Dave, Richie and Daisy! I cant wait to play with Daisy and get to know her. She is 11 weeks old and a bundle of joy weighing in at 2.8 pounds.
Last night we went to bed with the birds singing and we woke up to the birds singing this morning! It just doesn't get any better!
Until next time, take care and...
...happy trails!
Oh my, we walked through Willow Lake Campground when circumventing Willow Lake during our stay in Prescott...I agree, not a nice campground at all.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your posts from that area...we love it! We stayed in Cottonwood for a month last spring, we left about this time. If you do a drive to Prescott be sure to spend some time at Watson and Willow Lakes. There's always fun bands at the Spirit Room in Jerome on weekends! Of course, you probably know all this since you've been around here before! :-)
No, I didnt...thanks Lisa! We will have lots of time to explore. Last year we never made it to Jerome or Prescott.
DeleteI love your "take it as it comes" attitude.
ReplyDeleteI love the highways too but when the skies are blue and the sun is shining. I don't like them when the rain is falling and thunder is background noise.

ReplyDeleteOkay here you go a link to the Verde Valley Festival at Dead Horse Ranch State Park in Cottonwood. I would love to be there.
Great "road shots", I love traveling and watching the beauty roll by. HgGlad you are safely at Camp Verde! Have fun and enjoy!
I was just reading about the birding trails Sheila...thanks for the link. I will check it out!
DeleteOh, well, your new spot is perfect!! Too bad things didn't workout in Prescott but who wants to be crowded and dangerously off balance. Good idea to move on. You are now in another of our very favorite places:) You have a great location for so many places. Have an awesome time:)
ReplyDeleteI just went through your posts on Moab to check on some new things for us to try while here.
I hope you found some new things to do....the trails change so much from year to year so be careful. Two jeeps are better than one, just in case. As for hiking, we enjoyed Hidden Valley if you haven't done that one. It's a steep climb up the cliff, but once in the valley it is so worth it all the way to Moab Rim! I am pretty sure you have done all,the other hikes we have done except maybe Negro Bills! Beautiful hike along a creek with climbs up and down all the way to a natural bridge...wear long pants as there was some poison ivy along the creek.
