 We checked into the Douglas KOA today for an overnight stay on our way to Cody, WY. What a nice surprise. Thank you for the doggie park. Our 4  pups loved it! It was about 80'X34'...big enough for playing ball and the grass was thick and turning green.

Our home parked for the night. As you can see....the park is expanding. We met Jodi in the office. She and her husband bought the park in 2004. They have worked very hard to provide a comfortable, clean and safe place for their guests.  Jodi took time out of her busy day to share the photos of the progress they have made during the past 8 years. If you are near Douglas, stop and check it out. You will be greeted with genuine smiles from the staff, checked in efficiently, and escorted to your site by people who seem to be glad they are here helping you.

Estes Park, CO

 The ride from Pueblo to Estes Park, CO was not a long ride today....about 178 miles. These pictures were taken from the coach once we exited off  I 25. It was a beautiful stretch through the Roosevelt National Forest in North-Central Colorado. It was a winding road up the mountain and down the mountain....about 34 miles.

 For more than 100 years, Estes Park has welcomed visitors to Colorado's Rocky Mountains. Just 90 minutes from Denver, it is cradled on three sides by the Rocky Mountain National Forest.  The town's charming village, open all year round, offers unique shopping, dining, and outdoor activities. Wildlife is so plentiful that the elk wandering downtown seem like the welcoming committee. The scenery is beautiful, whether walking the village riverwalk or the path around Lake Estes.  There are 2 rivers that join in the middle of the village.  The Fall River flows into the Big Thompson River.

Estes Park KOA is a very small park. The sites are very level, but closr together. The village is the attraction here, not the park The park has alot of cabins for rent which we were told stay very busy during the peak season. 

HOME SWEET HOME! (This is our first back-in site with the motorhome.)
