Sometimes...

Distant Drums RV Resort
Camp Verde, AZ
April 12, 2015

I just love travel days...once we are packed up and loaded that is. Traveling the highways and byways brings me so much joy and peacefulness...especially driving days like last Saturday. Life is good!

Just a few sights along the way that made my heart beat a little faster...

Sometimes, things just don't work out as planned...we had an extra 9 nights and after reading John and Pam's (ohtheplacestheygo.wordpress.com) post on the Granite Dells, we decided our extra time would be spent enjoying and exploring Prescott. Well, our campground of choice had a 2 pup limit. So, I made a reservation at Willow Lake Campground. It was such a disappointment with many, many older full-time residents and sites that were small, close together and very unlevel. We backed into the spot given us, tried to level up only to have the back tires so far off the ground that that is was scary! We moved on! Camp Verde was close by and since we had planned a stay there, they have the pleasure of our company for an extra 9 nights! The Granite Dells were calling my name, but it just wasn't meant to be...this time!

Anyhow, we are settled in at Distant Drums RV Resort, Camp Verde, AZ site # 45 until April 23rd and will then move to our favorite site #37 which is a pull-in facing the mountains. We like it here as it is in the middle of Cottonwood and Sedona so both places are easy to get to. Distant Drums' monthly rate is a huge bargain...very clean and well maintained, friendly staff, pull-in sites have a large concrete patio, parking space, and electricity is included.

Dover's favorite spot in our home.

Pearl is sporting her summer do! Back windows are out, tonneau (tonno) cover is on, and she even has a sparkle these two approve of. Dover loves riding without the windows!

And guess who pulled in this morning...

Lynn, Dave, Richie and Daisy! I cant wait to play with Daisy and get to know her. She is 11 weeks old and a bundle of joy weighing in at 2.8 pounds.

Last night we went to bed with the birds singing and we woke up to the birds singing this morning! It just doesn't get any better!

Until next time, take care and...

...happy trails!

Some Bad News and Really Good News!

Tucson/Lazydays KOA
Tucson, AZ
April 8, 2015

The past week has been a week of bad news and good news. Bad news...we were homeless Thursday, Friday and Monday. Belle had a visit to the spa...Jeff Fischer's RV Maintenance and Repair. Days were spent under an olive tree on our site that provided lots of shade in the pen with the Tan Clan...the tree was full of blossoms so we ended each day with stuffy noses and itchy eyes even though we added allergy meds to the morning regiment of vitamins. Good news, we were able to pick Belle up at the end of each day so we didn't have to pitch a tent.

Belle looks great...you would never know she had a boo-boo!

Before...

during...

and after.
She also has a new "do" on top...
Sanded and ready...

That's Jeff on top...

Pete did the body work...

and Joe, a happy and satisfied customer.

Home Sweet Home...

Maintenance done...ready to go!
Inside, we are enjoying new window awnings Jeff installed.
How nice to have them block the suns bright light and warmth at mid-day. Blinds can stay raised so Dover and I can enjoy one of our favorite past-times...gazing out the window.

Bad news...

Joe had yet ANOTHER MOHs surgery...the third one...for Basil Cell Carcinoma. This one was the worst which needed over 30 stitches. Good news, stitches will come out this Thursday.

Really good news, I do believe we will be pulling out of Tucson a week early...northward bound!

It really is unfortunate that our generation grew up without sunscreen! We never leave home without it anymore.

While under the olive tree...

one of us was quite restless

until he decided to roll play the story "The Prince(cess) and the Pea"
Yep, that's four cushions!
But in the end, a lap is always better!

Two of us played "Who can eat the stick the fastest?"

while one of us was a diligent watchdog.

At the end of the three days, we were all thankful for blue skies, fluffy clouds and a nice Arizona breeze.

Ahhh...California dreaming...dinner (Feb.'15) at the Bledsoe's beautiful home on wheels.

Dungeness Crab cooked to perfection  with all the fixings!

Until next time, take care, enjoy...

Sunset at Gates Pass with Jim and Mary Ellen...
...and happy trails!
