Point of Rocks RV Park
Prescott, AZ
May 15, 2025
Before we packed on Saturday and headed north on Sunday, we had one last walk with Lucy on Friday night. It was a really pretty sunset walk that all three of us enjoyed.

Early morning visitors as the sun was coming up Sunday morning and I was filling the bird bath.
Just like all those years we lived full-time in the RV, I still get excited about travel day.
Point of Rocks RV Park in Prescott (pronounced Presscut for friends and family back east) has been on the list over 10 years. Yes, we have visited Prescott on day trips when staying at Distant Drums in Camp Verde, but never had the opportunity to stay here. P of Rs has a two dog limit and we always exceeded that limit with the Tan Clan. Now it is just Lucy.

Two of us are nosey, but I don't sit in the dash ! |
P of Rs is a beautiful park nestled in the Granite Dells with trees, birds, flowers, boulders, gravel level sites, full hook-up, and a camp store with ice cream. And, if that's not enough, it is just a short distance from anywhere we might want to go or anything we might want to do.

and rounded, lumpy geological formations with exposed granite dated at about 1,400 million years old make this a great destination. |
There is a trail from the park to Watson Lake. Watson Lake Park is 1/4 mile and the water is 1/2 mile further. We haven't done that walk/hike yet, but we did venture around the corner and what a pretty view it was overlooking the valley.
Prescott has a great off-leash doggie park about 3 miles away. We have been every day. Willow Creek Dog Park is so clean and we have met the nicest pups and friendliest people there. There is a big fenced area for small pups and a huge fenced area for large pups. The pups have turf for running, chasing and playing fetch, obstacles for playing, and fresh water.

HAPPY TRAILS !
Enjoy your trip and Lucy is so cute. Looks like she is happy to travel.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Lucy is a happy puppy…full of energy too!
DeleteWe like Prescott--but it's too cold up there for winter stays. Enjoy your time there--the dog park sounds very nice. I love the photo of Lucy hiding under the table doing something she is not supposed to do--we have one of those "hiders" too! And you caption for the photo of Lucy sitting on the dash made me chuckle. Have a great time!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Janna…thank you! Yes, it is quite chilly here in the winter so that just means we have to visit Wickenburg instead. It is still on the “let’s go there list” and I so hope we can make that happen in ‘26. If I suddenly realize it is too quiet at home, I know right where to look! I guess it is a girl thing to be nosey!
DeleteI think that Raven was bringing you a gift! They love peanuts in the shell, in case you want to keep him around! I wish we were home right now, we'd drive up to visit you, P of R is only an hour or so away from Wickenburg. Taos had a bear like the one Lucy was hiding away with. Only his bear was deaf...(we knew that because Taos ate both ears off immediately!) Enjoy your time!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Sue…I might just have to get a bag of peanuts when we get home. That Raven is awesome! And the other birds didn’t seem to mind it being so close. Wish we could have a visit too, and Wickenburg has to happen next winter for sure! Taos was smart to remove the bears ears…Lucy ate her bears tail!
DeleteLucy probably thinks that trip was just for her, she looks like she had such a good time!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Jim…Lucy thinks everything we do is just for her! Spoiled rotten I say, but very much loved and so much fun to have around.
DeleteYour Raven is stunning, seeming to pose for your camera. Had to laugh at Lucy behind the table. When I was a Little I hid behind the couch when being naughty :-))) Glad Lucy found some fun friends to play with. You may not be on the dash, but I bet you'd fit! Beautiful park for a getaway trip. Still loving to travel is a gift.
ReplyDeleteHi Jodee...I agree...just loving to travel is a gift as well as the means to do it. I patiently waited for all these years to get to Point of Rocks and am so happy to be here. I am hoping the Raven and all the other birds are still nibbling away on the food we left for them. That is cute about hiding...my favorite spot was under my bed like I really didn't think that thru it is so obvious !
DeleteAj was recruited by Embry-Riddle in Prescott. She felt it too 'cowboy' for her! But what a beautiful area to visit. is that a quail in your photos?
ReplyDeleteHi Jeff...Prescott is a beautiful and very historic little town. Lots to do in the area too. I totally understand how a So Cal girl might say "too cowboy". Yes, that is a quail. He was up and out early before the sun was really up which was a surprise as they usually visit much later in the morning.
