Looking left you see the historic Hotel del Coronado...
and looking right you see the hilly peninsula known as Point Loma...
and in between you will see happy puppies flying over a wonderful stretch of sandy beach.
This is Cooper...he belongs to Ronnie and Carol who we have the great pleasure of living next door to for the next couple of weeks! |
To get to the beach you have to walk along a path lined with Iceplant. This very unique plant is found along the California coast under 500 feet in elevation. Iceplant was brought to California from South Africa to stop erosion along railroad tracks in the early 1900s.
We had a couple of very happy and worn out pups when we headed home. What a wonderful first day in sunny SoCal.
So, until next time, take care and...
happy trails!
Hope you have the same beautiful weather we had during our stay in San Diego. The sunsets were gorgeous. Have a great time:)
ReplyDeleteThe long range forecast looks great Pam...let the good times roll!
DeleteJust love watching the dogs play together on the beach, so much energy they have.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that just the truth George! But boy when the crash, the really crash! Hope to get all the other pups to the beach too. One at the time is very manageable!
DeleteOh I love Coronado and the beach there. What a great place to visit!
ReplyDeleteThis is only my second visit here Jeri...I fell in love with it year before last. After Joe was cleared by the doctor, he asked me where I wanted to go and I didn't hesitate.
DeleteWooHoo! You made it! Please do a post on the campground you are staying at Gay, as San Diego has been on my radar for a long time. Also, thanks for informing us about the dog beach. Tucker will be pleased. Enjoy your stay!
ReplyDeleteI sure will Gayle! It's a beautiful KOA so I will get lots of pictures. The same family has owned it for about 30 years.
DeleteAll three of you will love the doggie beach...we were told not to go on the week-end...way to crowded with locals. Yesterday was perfect, hardly anyone there!
I'm curious to know about the KOA, having never stayed there or visited it before. It's further from the family and friends we visit in SD, but it's always good to have options in your back pocket!
ReplyDeleteIt's a nice KOA Lisa...family owned for about 30 years. We would love for you to come by if you have time. And I hope to post some pictures...the flowers are beautiful!
DeleteIsn't that wonderful, from the desert to the ocean! And you are in one of the coolest city in CA.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy and enjoy the sun!
Hey MonaLisa...it is wonderful to live wherever you want to, isn't it? One of the great things about this full-time RVing life style we choose. Can't wait to get out and explore! I have a list...
DeleteNothing is better than San Diego in January. I miss the ten years I lived 30 miles up the coast on the beach in Carlsbad.
ReplyDeleteI would have to agree Steve...it just doesn't get any better! Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteI loved seeing your beach pictures and am very jealous of the temps. The pups looked like they had a ball and know sunny California will be good for you all! Can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteI felt so good to walk on e beach Robbye...
DeleteStay tuned...the farmers market is next!
If only the dogs could talk !!! What a wonderful day for them, and you !! Great views. Glad you are all able to be carefree and joyfull !!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sue...it is beautiful here! Life is good!
