The campground does not have a pool or a hot tub. There is however, a man-made beach area on the lake, and the camp store rents canoes and kayaks. The campground is maintained by the city of Grapevine and we were told in town that it is now rated in the top 3 best campgrounds in the U.S. There are 9 wineries located in the area and downtown Grapevine has a quaint little historic street with boutiques, craft and art shops, ice cream parlor and a wide variety of restaurants from Italian to fish and even a biker hang-out for sandwiches.

The Vineyards Campground
Joe and I and the pups arrived at The Vineyards Campground on April 12th. The campground is located on Grapevine Lake in Grapevine, TX. The town of Grapevine is near Fort Worth and Dallas...close enough to shop and explore, but far away enough to be peaceful and quiet. This has to be the most beautiful campground we have ever seen. The pictures I have taken probablly don't show how roomy and spacious the sites are. There is a wonderful view from every window in our home. From the front window we can enjoy the Marina. From all the other windows, we see the lake, and all the wild life that lives here....ducks, geese, herons, and a wide variety of land birds. I have enjoyed watching the ducklings (and so has Sally!) and Joe even took a series of pictures that show a Blue Heron catching a fish and swallowing it!
