Bayshore Bikeway and Beyond

San Diego Metro KOA
Chula Vista, CA
January 2016

Riding bikes in San Diego is right up there on my list...not as exciting as the tide pools, not as yummy as a Cadillac, but the scenery, fresh air, and the need for a little physical exertion keep it near the top of things to enjoy.

I didn't keep up with the miles we rode...heck, I did't even keep up with where we were when we were riding. I do remember riding past Sea World, enjoying the Mission Bay Boardwalk, lots of parks, and beautiful marinas. I don't dare take my "good" camera because riding bikes is not the most graceful thing I do. But between Joe's Nikon 1 and my phone, I do want to share a sampling of the sights we saw.

Happy days and happy trails!

  3. As usual, love your pictures. We love riding bikes but hate riding where there's lots of traffic which seems to be most places we are at anymore.

    1. Thanks Jeri. I am with you, I don't do traffic! You will have lots of choices if you are in SD next winter.

  4. Biking is definitely the way to see this area. I recognize many of the photos. Staying at Mission Bay, we used our bikes to go everywhere. Nothing we needed was more than 10 miles away. The bike path along the water is the best. Glad you enjoyed your ride. Sure was beautiful:)

The bike path here in Tucson is all connected together now. I love that we can get on it right down from Lazydays KOA.

  7. I couldn't help but to giggle when I read what you wrote about riding bikes not being the most graceful thing you do. Maybe you're not so graceful but you sure are entertaining. Lots of laughs and fun (after we make sure you're still in one piece, of course) no doubt. Beautiful pictures, looks like so much fun. I know you had a great time.

    1. We did Alice...I sometimes recall the story of disappearing into the drain hole and Chase asking "Where did Gigi go?" The riding here is the most scenic. It's hard not to stop every few minutes to snap a picture!

    2. ....or the turn that everyone else made but you and you met the pine tree. Or the many memories at Callaway gardens. I'm sure it's hard not to stop and take pictures of everything!
