Chula Vista, CA
Dec,'15-Jan.'16
Today has turned into packing day. The forecast calls for rain and gusty winds beginning Sunday evening with a dip in the temps. We hope to dodge the winds and the snow/ice on the mountain passes leaving San Diego a day early.
Our stay here has flown by. It is amazing how a couple of months can become memories so quickly.
We have enjoyed visits with Ronnie, Carol and Cooper. Carol is an awesome cook and we have had the pleasure of joining them for dinner at their home.
We have been entertained by other visitors as well...and enjoyed lazy days (some of them wrapped up in a blanket) on the patio.
The Tan Clan has had lots of exercise between visits to the beach every week and playing here.
The days the sun decided to show resulted in beautiful skies to the east...the view we have from our front window.
The Sweetwater River runs beside the KOA. There is a walking/biking trail along the river.
I stopped on a bike ride to photograph the Willets.
A marina and restaurant, a sandy sitting area, or Pepper Park offer a spot to catch your breath and rest your legs. Or you can continue on the trail for a view of the Sweetwater Watershed.
We enjoyed one last get together with Dave, Lynn and Richie (Their home was parked at the Chula Vista RV Resort there.) at the Galley At The Marina. A dinner of "made fresh everyday clam chowder" and the Thursday special of fish and chips. The sunset was showy, the food yummy, and company delightful...our table was the nosiest with lots of laughs! See you all in Tucson...
Until next time,
Happy days and happy trails!
Sure enjoyed seeing San Diego through your words and pictures. Anxious to see your next adventure. Safe Travels!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeff. I love your city and hope to return next winter.
DeleteYou're pictures are stunning and I enjoy reading about the places you visit. The chamber of commerce in whatever area you visit should hire you!
ReplyDeleteA very nice compliment Joan...thank you!
DeleteSally, Sally, Sally...she is just so adorably photogenic! As is the rest of the clan!
ReplyDeleteTruly Lovely photos. You do San Diego well! ;-)
Sounds like a good idea to get heading to Tucson with the weather coming. Hope you beat the wind and rain. Safe travels:) See you in Tucson!
ReplyDeleteLove the header with the clan all facing the camera:)
It's always wise to keep checking the weather especially when you're going to be on the road. It keeps us out of a lot of trouble.
ReplyDeleteLove your photos, as always.
Travel safe and enjoy Tucson.
ReplyDeleteLove the pearls and diamonds! Safe travels, the wind is supposed to be horrendous here in AZ this afternoon and tomorrow. Your ending is precious :-))))
ReplyDeleteSeems I'm often running behind on my blog readings lately. I was surprised you'd stayed in the San Diego area as long as you did. We heard you were having awful weather out there. Hopefully that's all behind us & we can begin enjoying an early Spring. Safe travels to you. I'll be looking forward to seeing your posts on those spectacular desert sunsets.
ReplyDeleteLove the trio looking up at you, great shots. And of course I have to mention the birds and flowers.
ReplyDeleteSafe travels and see you soon here in Tucson.
Raelyn said Sally is "bootiful".... She is so right, Sally is so photogenic. Love the pic of all 3 of them, how in the world did you manage??? Joshua said his favorite pic was of the black bird, and wanted to know his name. Raelyn said "awe granddaddy is sittin in dirt" poor girl is from GA and hasn't seen a beach yet....lol all she knows is the GA clay!
ReplyDeleteGay, beautiful photos! Looks like you guys had some wonderful adventures in SD and make beautiful memories. One of my favorite things to do as a kid was climb a tree! . I so enjoy seeing other RV's having a great time. Love the Tan Gang photos.
